Ubisoft Loses $122m on $348m in Revenue during Apr-Sept 2010

For the six months ending September 2010, Ubisoft generated revenues of 260m Euros, roughly $348m, and posted a net loss of 89.8m Euros - about $122m. For the fiscal year, Ubisoft believes it can break even at the operating income level at 960m Euros, and thus expects a return to profitability by the end of the fiscal year.
Ubisoft expects most of this needed income to come in the December quarter. Revenue is forecast to reach 520m Euros during that quarter, on the strength of Just Dance 2, which Ubisoft says is up 75% over Just Dance over its first five weeks, with Ubisoft's leader Yves Guillemot calling it "the Wii phenomenon" of the moment. Assassin's Creed preorders are also up 25% over the last AC, and Michael Jackson is expected to perform well. Ubisoft says it is also seeing strong catalogue sales, which will help in the December quarter, mostly from Just Dance which has previously been reported to have shipped 4.3m units lifetime through September 2010. Ubisoft says retail support for Michael Jackson, which is essentially a Wii timed-exclusive at this point, is at Just Dance 2 levels - More Info @ Official Site
